Striking Gold - Faucherie Lake, CaliforniaWe picked our camp based on one thing - the ability to photograph the night sky. A few people kayaked by, looking perplexed and wondering why we were setting up our tents in such a crappy spot. Only time would reveal the master plan. When we first arrived there wasn't a cloud in the sky, but as the evening drew closer everything started to line up. We knew there was a good change we were about to experience something pretty special. As we sat in our camp chairs, in our crappy little camp spot, I don't know what was brighter - this sunset or the grins on our faces.
